CEAL@UNC submitted a letter in support of the Expanding Veterans’ Options for Long-Term Care Act, currently in the US House Committee process. This bipartisan bill was reintroduced in April by Rep. Elissa Slotkin (R-MI) and is co-led by Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI), Rep. David Trone (D-MD), and Rep Annie Kuster (D-NH).
This Act is broadly supported by assisted living advocates and providers, including the Alzheimer’s Association and AHCA/NCAL. It would create a three-year pilot program in which the Department of Veterans Affairs would pay for assisted living costs for eligible veterans. Read CEAL@UNC’s letter to the Act’s sponsors below:
