CEAL@UNC Executive Director Dr. Sheryl Zimmerman, and Dr. Paula Carder, Director of the Institute on Aging at Portland State University, recently presented to the Uniform Law Commission Study Committee on Regulation of Long-Term Care Facilities. The presentations highlighted, among other topics, the history of assisted living and an overview of regulation variation, CEAL@UNC’s common definition of assisted living, the relationship between state policy and quality improvement, and the use of quality indicators for medical and mental health care recommendations for assisted living.
